SLS away round confirmed as Croft!
Anyone done it?
I have been round a couple of times... expect D/C lap times to be about 1:35 in the dry _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

Cannot wait, such a good step forward for SLS. Hopefully attract some more Southern competitors.
I've done Croft on a track day, great track, Barcroft into Sunny in is the ballsy corner for me, can gain 0.5sec or wipe out your car just as easily.
Any idea of numbers expected to attend? |

Classics are having our away round there too. I’m hoping to be racing again this season so will be visiting for the first time. _________________ Alfa Romeo GT Junior |

Favourite corners for me would be Esses and Barcroft (braking into Sunny In)
Clervaux and the CHicane are good too _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

They do 1:38.x if they have any decent geometry settings on them and brakes that work. We didn’t have time for doing either _________________ 06 320Cd MSport - daily

Sounds like my 1:35 lap.
My brakes and general handling were all over the place! A wheel bearing was gone/going and pushing pads back
I'd be aiming a few secs quicker if using the blue Impreza - 1:32 perhaps
I know Fee's 1:35 would have had its issues too - GTR was a boat to drive that year _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

Haven't been. It looks/sounds as though low powered cars will be firmly in class with little opportunity to make up time? |

not sure what you mean Alex?
As in more straights than corners so less to gain if you are quick on corners?
My opinion - nope, I see the track as a good mix. A few straights but some ballsy corners that require commitment to keep speed up in pretty much anything above Class F/G perhaps.
Top down the corners always appear a lot more open than when you are driving them _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

Croft is a great fast and grippy track.
Have been going there since 2003 (in Cosworths)
Jim Clark Esses and Barcroft are fast...
Sunny In is awesome but get it wrong and you aint going to be taking part for the rest of the meeting.
Managed a 1:36 this year with the E46 M3 (official race timing)
Nankang AR1 Tyres - to fit in with championship regs
Standard Engine
Geoff Steel CSL Airbox
Steel Doors - to fit in with championship regs
No Aero - to fit in with championship regs
Me @ 18 stone!!!
If the car was in SLS spec it would be quicker as it could run the aero and lightweight panels. _________________ Paul. |

Pretty decent time considering the weight back in from previous SLS spec! _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

Thanks Adam.
Anyone who knows M3's will know how heavy the standard item's are.
The times were good enough to get silverware in all the races that weekend so was happy enough with that.
The local folks are unbelievably quick round there.
