Adam is normally quick off the bench with this one but ROR must of taken it out of him this year!
Dates:
Round 1 - Knockhill - 21st April
Round 2 - Croft Circuit - 19th May (tbc)
Rounds 3/4 - Knockhill - 1st/2nd June (tbc) or 22nd/23rd June (tbc)
Round 5/6 - Knockhill - 3rd/4th Aug
Round 7/8 - Knockhill - 31st Aug/1st Sep
Starter Pack:
http://superlapscotland.co.uk/downloads/2019-SLS-Starter-Pack.pdf
Looking at my rota il prob make a late appearance again,
Rounds 5&6 - offshore for 2 weeks - Rounds 7&8,
If 3/4 stay 1st/2nd of June il make that as well!
Suits me fine! Dont think im ready for a full year back yet lol, hopefully this is the car finally done so its now down to me ! Really would of loved to have done the away round!

Thanks Jack
Yes - a bit busy recovering and sorting through stuff after ROR
2019 classes based on Flywheel BHP and WEIGHT including driver
Pro Class: Unlimited
Class A: 426-530bhp/tonne
Class B: 341-425bhp/tonne
Class C: 266-340bhp/tonne
Class D: 211-265bhp/tonne
Class E: 166-210bhp/tonne
Class F: 131-165bhp/tonne
Class G: below 130bhp/tonne
To work out your vehicles power to weight ratio you can carry out the simple equation below;
Flywheel bhp x 1000 / Car Weight Including Driver = Power to Weight Ratio _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

one point I have clarified with CoC and Scrutes.
Pit to Car comms ARE legal and allowed for SLS. There was some confusion on this, but now cleared up. If you want to use comms feel free. Remember to get licenced up if using none PMR446 'free' channels. Check OFCOM for details.
Other viable options at KH (with decent phone coverage) would be phone and headsets _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

Big jump in difference for class E........maybe others. I've only really looked at that class as its where i was last year, was close to the top of the class structure.
The new structure i'm left in no mans land. Find 30bhp or add 100+ KG. |

i dont follow....
are you still calculating with wheel HP?
The classes essentially havent changed, they have just shifted to ENGINE/FLYWHEEL HP in the calculation.
Can you clarify your comment? _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

Unless my sums are wrong........
Last year i was 160/1015 = 157
This year i will be 193/1015 = 190
so find 20bhp (mistyped before), or add 100+kg |

Are those results whp/flywheel from RA?
Doubt your calcs are wrong..... you’ll need 206bhp (flywheel) to get to absolutel max of class E. 16bhp over the figure you have stated. _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

RA figures Adam. How did you get 206?
206/1015 = 202?
213/1015 = 209.8
Not that it makes much difference tbh. Getting 20bhp means adding ITB’s, management etc. An that’s not happening. I’ll chop a limb off an save some weight |

target hp/ton = 210
Weight inc driver = 1015kg
213.15hp
Looks like I / rather than * to calc backwards

I am not the biggest fan of the swap to 1c tyres for all classes but not for road cars. I obviously understand that as they are not road legal they cannot. Just a shame as any road car that was competing for podiums is now at a fair disadvantage and will very rarely get the opportunity. _________________ If you're not fast, you're last !! |

Not a fan of this new rule either, don’t understand the need to include 1c tyres across the board, as far as I know they’re softer stickier compounds so you’ll be forced to use them in order to be competitive. |

Missed that change, it certainly helps me, not so much to the ultimate lap time, but it means I can get the correct tyre sizes. _________________ R600 Dubaru

Stevie - I wasn’t keen on the change but seems the majority were. I’d still be using 1B in the Impreza, but it helps folk in things like Minis to run their championship tyres which are 1C . Note they are not great at 1 lap!!! _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

I agree, change to 1c tyres is not the best for road classes, seen a few road cars win their class over the years but don't think that will be the case in 2019.
Hope this 1c rule stays around though and people aren't buying tyres this season that they can't use for next season. |
