Im sure all racers and anyone who is a fan of motorsport has massive appreciation for the commitment of the guys and girls in the orange overalls.

That is not the point of this discussion, and I do agree drivers should offer themselves to marshaling on a regular basis, that is a discussion for another topic.

From my might point of view the SMRC either acts like

a club/ society which is for the the purpose of enabling participation in motorsports and therefore engages with its members.

or

like a business that provides a product to its paying customers.

From what I gather a lot of people feel that it is acting as neither. I hope that over the course of the season we will be able to provide communication to the SMRC as to what we need as club members and customers of the SMRC for racing in the S&S, and that it leads to something constructive. Or someone will realize there is a niche in the market that needs filled and the SMRC may lose out.

On the above, does anyone know if the SMRC has ever published a mission statement/ constitution or anything like that. I have searched but not found anything.

I have been stuck in the garage trying to finally get the MX5 back out on track, so I haven't managed to get down to Knockhill to chat to anyone.

But when researching MX5 racing in the US I found this a league which uses the below to group there cars:

Just thought id put it up here to see what ppl think about this approach, ignoring the Americanisms:

SLS uses Power to Weight. It does involve a pretty big workload for competitors and officials, and can tend to divert from other elegibilty issues.

I know the draft timetable has been prepared, but not yet publicised. Racing from midday on Saturday. Apparently a full 30 car grid of National FF1600, Super Touring, Junior Touring plus SMRC Championships and F1 demo laps.

We're Scrutineering 3-6pm Friday and probably starting at 09.00 Saturday morning.

Its a half-day for you Alan. No track action until after lunch. My team will be starting at 09.00 on Saturday as there's lots of cars to check and only 1 series is bringing their own Eligibility Scrutineer
