A lot of this cars build has already been covered by Emicen in another project thread - http://trackscotland.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6131&highlight=

The car

as we now have it

Plans....

Still a bit up in the air between Mini Cooper Cup, building to Cooper S Cup etc etc.

Fee had it on track (with her sis) yesterday, so hopefully she can give a bit more detail Very Happy

Good purchase, seems like a well built car.

Will you be staying N/A for next year and running in the main series or supercharging?

Why is it that any S/C cars will sun in S&S? Do you know the reasons why they cant run in with the other minis like the ST's with the XR2's?

i would imagine the grid would be too large with the proposed number of supercharged entries

plus with such close racing you wouldn't want a mix of speeds as would be crazy 3 coopers and 3 cooper s's trying to fit down duffus at same time and you *know* they would try. We were at high 20's every single round for mini i think.

As above, speed differentials with slicks and treaded tyres may cause a few problems, and the MINIS grids are pretty healthy. S&S can accommodate few extra cars on the grids quite easily and we have some flexibility as the cars are produced and numbers develop.

Not sure what the plan will be for 2018 if we end up with a dozen or so Cooper S cars and keep similar MINI Cooper grids to 2016. I know that SMRC are looking at options. I really hope the S cars are well supported as it is a logical progression from the Coopers.

My view is S&S needs more cars preferably of a similar performance, the mini cooper s cars fit the bill i would say. The past 2 seasons from a spectators point of view, sports an saloons had been a bit boring and overshadowed by the other race series it runs alongside

S&S needs to change the class structure for it too get people to enter. I did try a couple weeks ago to try and get the smrc to maybe make some changes for next season but got told everything submitted to the MSA for next season. Looks like everything will be the same again. To be honest I get the feeling nobody cares about the S&S. Pity as it could be good if sorted out

The Regulations had to be with the MSA by the end of November. Unfortunately your suggestion that changes were needed came too late to discuss, never mind changing, the Classes.

Which is exactly why S&S needs someone to take control of it. Were any of the drivers canvassed for their opinion before the regs were submitted to MSA? Not that I'm aware of.

I'm still in NZ and Fee's too busy to do anything with it Laughing

Plans are to send the car back down to PT to make sure its still within regs, set up etc.

Then I'd plan for a quick trip to bodyshop - Fee - have you sorted this out ?

NB if they spray the cage the serial number needs to be masked off.
