had a right blast this evening, with everything working perfectly and no red flags that I could tell.
Seemed quiet in term of numbers but everybody was out all the time so it still wasn't easy to get a whole lap in, but when I did, boy was the S4 flying! Smile

Big thanks to Fee for coming down and organising again etc and I suppose Adam can take a % of credit for errm, not being there to cause a red flag? Razz Razz

Managed my fastest lap in reverse, just over 60s and under 61 Smile

Hopefully I wasn't dripping gearbox oil all round the track.
At least my car sounds nice and healthy again after the diff bearing went last time out.

Chris, when I got in front of you (if it was you driving), at that first hairpin, you saw what happens when I brake too late. UNDERsteer.
That's the slowest way to go round that corner. I had my mirrors full of you and should've been looking ahead not behind.
THAT's why I don' t race Smile

I'll post a vid later showing the right way round that corner in a tricked-up quattro Smile
Looking forward to the next one in the right direction so that I can really see what diff the diff diffs (!!!) and FMIC have made.
Too little data in reverse, still.

The major disappointment was talking a vid on the way home of the most astonishing rainbow, near Newbridge, and it not coming out nearly as bright, or big as it was at the time.
Someone else will have seen it I'm sure. People were pulling onto the hard shoulder to take pics!
Tut tut.

Major bonus from the evening - Gordon Shedden looked at my car! Smile Smile I was like, hmmm I know that face, do I wave? Oh THATs who it is! And I was past him and away.
Sigh.
Make those raffle tickets lucky ones, Fee Smile

Wow, seven Smiles in one post. Must be happy Smile 9 now!

Just the one, for the clio that rolled on the exit of clark's Shocked

It looked quite a slow roll, the car drove back under its own steam looking a bit sorry for itself. I assume the guys are ok, they didn't need the medics at the time.

Was good fun, one day I am hoping to not be the slowest car on track - one day Rolling Eyes

But at least I managed to get one of my old Porkers there and round the track, several times! then it decided to burp a load of coolant with 1/2 hour to go Crying or Very sad so I had to call it a night. After a cool down a and a top up it got me home no bother, so no harm done. For a 30 year old mostly original car I thought it fared quite well.

Thanks again to the organisers!

Hehehe
It was I & I just remember thinking , he does not its a left turn here, Wink
Late in & drive out will suit the big girl anyway Smile
You werent slow out & it took a lot of late hard braking etc to keep anywhere near you. I nearly hit you into Clarks when you were über polite to a slow car, the abs was on & nothing left to give :O

Great night, hope the Clio & driver aren't too damaged Sad

Steering racks goosed which made it interesting at times but <£100 and chance to fit a quicker rack now Smile

Had an absolute blast tonight, great weather an the driving from all that I met on track was top notch. Clio was running like a dream until the last 10mins where it developed a missfire which will need investigated

Fantastic night though so thanks Adam and fee for organising
