So what sort of laptimes would be acceptable for a B1 car then?
Wouldn't want to enter if i would be a hazard.
Does KMSC membership mean i can enter or is SMRC a different one altogether?
Seat doesn't need to be in date but harness does? |

Seat doesn't need to be in date but harness does, correct.
IIRC you need to be a member of "a" club to enter any race organised by any club, but not necessarily the club organising the race. As in, you could enter an SMRC race as a KMSC member but would pay the non-SMRC member's entry fee.
As long as you're quicker than the MX5s I wouldn't worry about being a hazard. If you were running 60s laps only a few front runners would realistically/potentially lap you in a 12 lap race. _________________ 06 320Cd MSport - daily

Cheers.
Im really interested in doing it as i think more seat time/ experience is the way to go for me. Im happy with my car now and don't really want to up the power as the engine has been reliable the way it is.
Im going to be getting driver coaching next season right through, so that should also help.
Need to buy a new harness this winter then. |

yup, it certainly will push you to be a better driver if you are close with other cars.
Saying that.... SLS is def good for finding 1 lap / Qualy pace _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

i would say having stepped from track day person to race person its the fastest way to improve times. I managed to knock 10 seconds off my best time having 1 test day with other caterhams (at Oulton Park). Something about trying to chase someone down that mentally pushes you. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/andybalcairn/ to see how bad I drive!!!

The plan is to do both SLS and SMRC next year Adam. I certainly wouldn't drop SLS.
Ive enjoyed my first season too much. Even with the issues its been fun trying to improve my driving and get better.
I want as much seat time next season as possible. Then i might have a chance of carching Mark. |

Good luck, you'll need it _________________ There's nothing wrong with the car except that it's on fire.

Dream on lads
Get it done Dave, hopefully have Martyn out for some races next year too. If you like SLS you'll definitely enjoy the racing, totally different buzz, can't beat your leg trembling first time you're holding the clutch on the grid. _________________ MD Racing

I've been trying in SLS all year but not even close. But it gives me aspirations to rise to. Maybe in a few years I will be at least competing with Mark.

There are always cars around the 60s mark, but I dare say it wouldnt be long before you'd lapping 57ish _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

Ive been watching it all year on motors tv. It does look good and I need to get more time in the car and learn how to drive it quickly. So it looks like i need to get organised over the winter for next seasons SLS and SMRC. |

Motors TV (whilst great) isn't really representative of what actually goes on during the day _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC
