Howdy all, been lurking around in the background of TS for a while now.

I recognise DaveP and a few others from various clubs & events.

Complete and utter newbie for track days in cars, other than the odd blat round the odd empty track but no form of competitive days. Visited the "Ring" last year and made a holiday of it - very enjoyable.

Looking to progress some ideas I have and I know you lot are going to keep me up to speed on what I'm doing wrong.

Anyway, the fleet:

The daily runner is my Audi:

2003 1.9TDI Quattro (S-line kitted by myself) on a set of 19" by 9" BBS LM (replicas).

Had it stage one Revo'd to a theoretical value of 170 odd horsies. Good machine on the road and a nice tight six speed manual gear box.

Next is the weekend toy:

'94 Celica GT-Four ST205. I've owned it from "new" (UK import) since 2007. I've taken it from a standard spec to a current "fast road" spec of 327 raging Japanese mountain goats (Wallace Performance 2009).

It's a proper hooning machine for the back roads.

Lastly we come to my blank canvas:

'99 Impreza Turbo. Non-runner - 3rd cylinder big end failure.

It shall be getting worked on this winter in the workshop but I'm aiming to build a track car which will be run on 100% bio-ethanol made from waste/rotten potatoes. I've done the calculations for the fuel system, nearly twice the consumption of normal petrol, but other than that I'm going conventional for chassis dynamics, etc.

And that concludes my introduction. Laughing
