it is hard for me to judge when we went out the cone was on the inside of Duffis,

When i went out with Fiona the cone wasnt their and it felt like she had all four wheels on the dust on the left hand kink going down Duffis,

But when iv been out with you in the impreza i noticed you did the same,

One thing though wouldnt mind you taking my car for a run

well had a good but eventful evening!

caused my first red flag in 10 years of track driving!

car was best its been and was getting a good run with a lotus and a caterham, then brakes went long at hairpin! made corner and went through pits, the pedal came back so i thought they were just hot, went to do a cool down lap and thought they were binding.... but it was actually the hub nut had come slack Rolling Eyes

was a new nut aswell! torqued loctited and staked!

going to tack weld it to the driveshaft next! Laughing

so apologies for the hold up it seemed like ages getting back in Embarassed

got a wee vid on the camera looks quite good i'll try and get it on!

What a fine saturday evening. Thanks to Fee and Adam for organising & special thanks to the marshalls too for giving up their saturday evening.
Had a decemt run in the M3 no real problems although my brakes still struggle with the extra load from slick tyres.
Apologies to the white GTR for not pulling over on the straight, I had spotted a clear bit track ahead and was determined to keep it Embarassed I did put in my fastest lap then, a 59.8.
I should have vids to post up later, meantime heres lap data from a couple of best laps. The blue one might have been good, but slow through chicane I think for a yellow flag I think.

I think I was mixing it with the two of you towards the end - I enjoyed the laps behind you. You looked quicker than 59.8 and I was impressed by your commitment in to duffus. I'll post the video of it as soon as I can.

My best lap . . .

Another big thanks to Adam and Fee. Great night and never seemed too busy.
Especially enjoyed the play with the black Skyline right at the end. Tried in vain to hang onto the back of the white GTR a couple of times, but he was just too quick.

Looking at the state of my rear tyres, sliding it out of the hairpin is an expensive habit!

Thanks David, I did notice you in the mirrors hope I didn't hold you up, but thought you might have the video running Wink
It takes a bit of effort to get the m3 round under 1 minute, my vmax is 110.
Well done with your new pb.

My best moment from last night was almost running over Shane Lynch - he wasn't for moving, I wasn't for stopping - there was only ever going to be one winner. Laughing

Couple of panoramas from messing about last night:

Clio started on the button this morning so some kind of heat / vibration issue with the wiring.

Really good night, thanks to adam and fee for organising this! Loved being out on the track for the first time, dont think i held anyone up apart from a caterham which i literally couldnt see as it was so close and so low down, but if i did hold anyone up apoligies! Sad

Was really happy with how the civic handled, just need more power now!

I enjoyed my 10 minutes.

2nd time I went out there had been a red flag so everyone was queueing in the pit lane to go out. Eventually we went out - accelerated through the gears but got to the top of duffus and the throttle stopped responding properly then the engine cut out so I coasted and parked it off at the chicane.

KH marshalls asked if we could leave it there till half 7. This was at about 7.10-7.15. Fair doo's it wouldn't have been good to do a red flag just after a red flag but it meant I didn't get a chance to sort the car and see if I could get back out. Sad

Seems like a crank sensor /wiring problem again as ecu isnt getting a sync with the flywheel. So strange it seemed perfect since fitting the Zetec crank sensor.

Really feel for you Dave. What a run of bad luck.

Hope you get it fixed before the next outing so we can compare these times!

Cheers for the use of you trailer too.

Steven

Probably my best track night, car ran great, driving on the track was excellent and the weather is perfect!

Thanks again to Adam and fee as the drift boys never got in our way once.

My mrs wish she had come up now when I told her Shane lynch was there.

She'll not be impressed with you Dave when I tell her you nearly killed him. Lol
