We did one recently, at the beginning of the year just to run the skyline in and check a few things.
It was...different!

The driving standards weren't too bad, we were in a trackcar specific group.
I just didn't find it value for money/useful tracktime

Yes, it's cheap...but for that you get 10 minute track sessions every hour or so. 10 minutes isn't long enough to do very much.
Once your session is over you have about 10 minutes to tinker and then get called to line up again for the next session, so a lot of the day is waiting/queuing.

I guess if you're just wanting a bit of tracktime and that's it, they're fine. We wanted to and needed to tinker with the car so it didnt really work and it all felt a bit rushed.

I've booked up for the one on the 26th but as fee says I'm just doing it for track time. No tinkering required! It'll be the first time my co-owner of car will be on track so it'll be a taking it easy day......

I have done alot of hot hatch days in the last year. For your 65 your looking at just under 1.5 hours of track time over the day (roughly 8 x 10 min sessions). Whilst the standard of driving and general track courtesy is not as high as TS track days, it is still good fun and I like the banter you get with everyone while you wait for the next session.

Jameshutcheson - are you making it to the TS track day in July?

Didn't realise that about the waiting, not good as I'm very impatient.

Want to get more track time so might give one a try.

Thanks for the heads up guys.

Is there any chance of any more TS full days over the summer this year?

I did the last one didnt find the waiting to long as there was only 4 groups and they put group 3 n 4 together as numbers were low driving standards have got 100 times better since i did my last one 3 years ago. I should be going on the 26th if the car is ready hope the weather is better than the last one Laughing

No, we don't have any full days booked for the rest of the year. The May one was really a one off and I don't think we'll be repeating it again since we didn't get the numbers

4 hour one in July though

They were all driving too close to each other at every corner. It was bound to happen at some point.

I was on track with them (behind) and yeah they were driving too close. If you choose not to run with the pack then you stay away from any trouble. Its quite possible to have a clear track on a KH track day, me a couple of months ago:

they are not going to asda they are on as race track alright they are not

racing but each other, but this is what make's track days at khill more

exciting than driving round yourself and car in front just moving over if you

are faster than them .

as for khill track days not being good value, rubbish

your track days you can't drive your car round track for 2 hour's

flat out , you can only drive for max 20 mins and then stop to check

car and let it cool down, and if you have a problem with car you don't

have much time to sort before time is up
