Fair enough I suppose (didn't think cutting the hairpin was common though) but definately need painted to bring attention to them being raised.

Dunc.

Will have some vids of those humps by the end of the weekend. I see SIDC also do a few 'warm up laps' in groups of 15 cars or so, which will be handy for that first drive thru the chicane - that's the main worry for me - spotting the exit from down in the dip, without that pile of tyres there to guide me.

Hope they also have a post or suchlike there, to help.

'go round properly' - is that the same as eating well? Smile

doesnt look that bad.

only part that concerns me is the chicane... potentially messy through there if you slide at the bottom of the hill Laughing

they look pretty badly made TBH - why do they bother about people cutting corners?

... because you are supposed to go round the track not 'over' it

corner cutting wrecks the grass, brings mud on to track etc

black stuff-yours, green stuff-mine and we can argue about that gravelly bit in the middle Laughing

after btcc chicane was like a ploughed field and costs money to reseed and returf

not meaning to be cheeky but if ade got a telling off for drifting, how the hell does that guy that owns the starlet get away with it EVERY trackday then? i can agree ok some people dont want to have a car sideways at the hairpin all the time, i certainly wouldnt want to have that red evo doing that behind/infront of me putting me off in case he got it wrong... but i have never seen that starlet do one trackday without almost every session going sideways at some part of the track and that was at least 7-8 last year in the dry and wet and couple this year.

With regards to the "humps" they look mega high, as dave said, if a car hits them the wrong way, bye bye car! all its going to take is one wrong entry into the corner and that's going to f**k a car up in a bad way and send it clean off the track.

lets hope that we maybe see some good racing from it, but the speed sundays will certainly be interesting from now on Laughing

the starlet was on our last day.... Folk were told not to drift at the briefing (or at least keep it sensible). He got a few flags for various reasons.

We have spoken to individuals ourselves to mention that its a trackday BUT we cant stop folk doing what they do on track all the time Laughing We have to rely on the marshals being given the same info that was given out at the briefing for example - 'no drfiting'

I got my arse booted the last few times i was up for slighly drifting at the hairpin.

there is drifting like a fud where there is a risk of causing damage to other ppl's pride and joys and there's having a nice controlled.......ish slide out the hairpin but i think there is a very fine line between the two.

i was having a conversation about this starlet today with someone and the staff at knockhill black flag him and told him to leave the track. I believe he got his money back. unless it was a serious incident i could agree but to get kicked off the track for drifting seems harsh

again i wasnt there and didnt see it so its kind of hard to judge.

Interesting to get a look at these seeing as the hairpin and clarks were never problem corners for cutting. They're duffus/leslies, macintyres and the chicane.

TBH the smart solution would have been cerrated kerbs like Oulton. I had no choice but to kerb hop at Butchers last year when another driver decided the bit in the blue book about front wheels ahead of B pillar means leave room, didn't apply to them. Have to do that over those you'll at least fcuk a ball joint or three.
