Kindness (but they got it wrong for Knockhill results, right for Oulton)

is that at the end of the straight ie an indicator of the peak speeds reached, or at some genrric point in the braking zone?

In other words could you beat that time by simply not braking Razz

i'm sure its just before the braking zone for some, but deep into it for others. I think its just under the bridge.

Another Win for Shane... 3 in a row.

Fee got 7th in class, and a handy 40 points I think. Russ got 5th in class and 3rd in Qual.

Looking at Fee's trap speeds at the end of the back straight :O she has pretty big balls as i think thats a braking zone haha. The start/finish speed trap is on the power.

results for club class final

Finally beaten one of my times from last year Adam/Fee. Cool Laughing

Good speed on the back straight. Cool

Getting comfortable with the car now? Must be a different animal to last year. Twisted Evil

she wasnt that far off at KH - 58.3 or something i think. Yours was a high 57 last year i think. Still.... it wont be easy to find that 0.5second Laughing

Oulton - ptff Laughing a few 'issues' on that day Laughing her fastest time of 09 was slower than her 08 time there.

Fee did really well yesterday, especially as she still wasn't feeling 100%, and it was so hot.

The speed trap is under the bridge, so I was told. We were at the bridge for qualifying, and the bridge is before the braking zone.
There's a tightish corner leading onto that back straight - so really all cars would have a similar cornering speed (within a few mph). So the skyline is quicker than most on acceleration and top speed.
But if you notice the speed trap for the start finish line, it's further down the order. I'd guess it can't carry the speed through the Woodcote high speed corner as well as some of the other cars.
Maybe something to look at in future.

We were at Woodcote for the finals, but there's nothing to see that explains it.

na... its cant be.

The car isnt that powerfull. The white R33 GTR runs 600+bhp, Russ is 600+ too i think.. They must be lifting or braking early for that back speed trap.

It was only what I heard.

The grass banking at the bridge was a very popular place to watch from, and a group next to us said the speed trap was under the bridge.

No-one was braking before the bridge, that's for sure.

I wouldn't think Silverstone themselves would have a speed trap in a braking zone.

dunno :S confusing.

The start finish speed trap is def a flat out sprint round that last corner so a good indication of true power.

Fee's car cant be quicker than some of those in flat out acceleration unless she took the previous corner about 20mph faster than them Laughing
