Thanks for crunching the data Adam. I wonder if the Railway Straight Speed trap figures could be used for reverse direction? _________________ Renny

they could be and were for the first year or so from memory, but... always buts
some folk are much better at getting out of the hairpin than others and it didnt seem to tie up.
Pros/Cons for both.
Normal:
S/F - Shows power but will also be affected by traction!
Railway - May be better, but some folks are slow at Clarks OR brake so early that the speed trap is on the brakes for them
Reverse:
SF - Long time to get up to speed... so cornering should be out of the equation. Drag - Me and the Puma as case in point. I'm right on the limit of class, but with low power and low weight. Ray must be higher power/higher weight as he can muster ~5mph more through the traps. More torque / less drag. Somefolk will be braking early..... through the speed trap.
Railway - some folk just dont get out of the hairpin well and the trap speeds were all over the place. Generally seemed to be traction driven _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC

We maybe need to ask Sharpy to install another speed trap at the pit lane entrance for reverse direction. Accounting for aero drag is going to be a bit of a lottery, some are more slippery than others ( your Subaru vs Mini ). _________________ Renny

a simple speed trap mid way up the main straight (on start line) would work well in both directions _________________ Impreza Race Car, 1200kg, 480bhp - SLS/SMRC
